If your TV or streaming device runs Google TV or Android TV, install the Thursti Player straight from the Play Store:

  1. Open Google Play on your TV

    From your TV's home screen, open the Google Play Store app (or the "Apps" section on Google TV).

  2. Search for "Thursti"

    Type Thursti in the search bar and select Thursti Player from the results.

  3. Install & open

    Click Install, then launch the app. It opens straight to a pairing screen.

  4. Pair your screen

    The TV shows a short pairing code. Log in to thursti.com/app on your phone or computer, add a screen, and enter the code. That's it — your content appears in seconds.

  1. Open the link

    On the computer connected to your display, open thursti.com/go in any browser.

  2. Pair the screen

    A pairing code appears. Log in to thursti.com/app from any other device, add a screen, and enter the code.

  3. Go fullscreen

    Press F11 on Windows/Linux or ⌃⌘F on Mac (or click the fullscreen button in the player) for a clean, chrome-free display.

💡 Pro tips for always-on displays: disable sleep in your computer's power settings, and set the browser to relaunch thursti.com/go on startup. Once paired, the screen reconnects automatically after reboots — no need to re-pair.

🔥 Amazon Fire TV — using the Downloader app (easiest)

  1. Allow apps from unknown sources

    On your Fire TV: Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → turn on Apps from Unknown Sources. Don't see Developer Options? Go to Settings → My Fire TV → About, highlight the device name, and press the select button 7 times to unlock it.

  2. Install the Downloader app

    From the Fire TV home screen, search the Amazon Appstore for Downloader (the free orange app by AFTVnews) and install it.

  3. Enter the download URL

    Open Downloader and type: thursti.com/downloads/thursti.apk

  4. Install & launch

    When the download finishes, click Install, then Open. Pair the screen with the code shown, just like any other device.

🛠 Fire TV or any Android device — using ADB over WiFi

  1. Enable ADB debugging on the device

    Fire TV: Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → ADB Debugging → ON. Note your device's IP address under Settings → My Fire TV → About → Network.

  2. Install ADB on your computer

    Mac: brew install android-platform-tools  ·  Windows: winget install Google.PlatformTools

  3. Connect and install

    In a terminal, run (replace with your device's IP):
    adb connect 192.168.1.xx:5555
    adb install -r thursti.apk
    Accept the "Allow USB debugging?" prompt on the TV when it appears.

📱 Android tablets & generic Android boxes

  1. Download the APK on the device

    Open the device's browser and visit thursti.com/downloads/thursti.apk — or transfer the file via Google Drive, email, or a file manager.

  2. Allow the install

    Tap the downloaded file. If prompted, allow your browser or file manager to install unknown apps (Settings → Apps → Special access → Install unknown apps).

  3. Install, open & pair

    Complete the install, launch Thursti Player, and pair with the on-screen code.

⚠️ Security note: only download the Thursti Player APK from thursti.com. The APK is signed with our official release key — if your device warns that an update has a different signature, uninstall the old copy first, or grab the store version instead.
